The KG #400 violas are the top model instruments in our line. Only the best possible materials are selected and these have been carefully handcrafted with particular attention to the graduation of the plates. The violas are oil varnished in an antique style and are available in the following sizes: 15″, 15½”, 16″ and 16½”.

A new model has recently been introduced in this series, based on a Gasparo da Salo viola of 1580 with a body length of 15 3/8” (391 mm). This popular design produces an excellent smaller instrument that gives more comfort and playability while still maintaining a full viola sound.
